DESCRIPTION OF THE BOOK:

Anytime I have been to a family gathering or get-together with friends, much of the time becomes devoted to telling tales of days gone by. These stories I listened to as a child and throughout my life. Those of my family and friends that arent here in person now are still here in the stories about them and people, places, and events that we all seem to never forget. However, Ive noticed a flaw to the telling of our memories. When those who can recall and tell the stories are about to pass away almost always, so does all that they remembered. So I decided that as I myself love to tell the stories, I am not going to let that happen to me. So I have been writing short stories so my children and grandchildren will be able to always have them to read. Since I began writing, Ive gained interest from my cousins and old friends who also want to read them. As time has moved forward, the number of memories continues to grow, and I write more memories to keep. I hope that reading this compilation of short stories will give you some opportunity to recall. Life should have smiles and a laugh or two, and I hope you find them within.

DESCRIPTION OF THE BOOK:

"Like many of us, I started out as a tourist and developed into a traveler. From my first tentative trip abroad in the 1960s in a polyester polka-dot dress, through my most recent foray as a seasoned, award-winning writer (in breathable cotton), I've ventured with an open mind and heart to all seven continents of our beautiful world. The result is Places I Remember, over fifty years of writings and illustrated photos from a hundred countries. I'd call this unique book a mix of travel memoir, travel almanac, personal journal and illustrated album of my photos. Country by country, A to Z, I offer behind-the-scenes glimpses of my life as a travel writer."

DESCRIPTION OF THE BOOK:

This New York Times bestselling love story about two teens who find each other while standing on the edge is soon to be a Netflix film starring Elle Fanning and Justice Smith! Theodore Finch is fascinated by death, and he constantly thinks of ways he might die. But each time, something good, no matter how small, stops him. Violet Markey lives for the future, counting the days until graduation, when she can escape her Indiana town and her aching grief in the wake of her sister's recent death. When Finch and Violet meet on the ledge of the bell tower at school, it's unclear who saves whom. And when they pair up on a project to discover the "natural wonders" of their state, both Finch and Violet make more important discoveries: It's only with Violet that Finch can be himself--a weird, funny, live-out-loud guy who's not such a freak after all. And it's only with Finch that Violet can forget to count away the days and start living them. But as Violet's world grows, Finch's begins to shrink.

DESCRIPTION OF THE BOOK:

With the same brilliant combination of humor and warmth she brought to bestseller Bird by Bird, Anne Lamott gives us a smart, funny, and comforting chronicle of single motherhood. It’s not like she’s the only woman to ever have a baby. At thirty-five. On her own. But Anne Lamott makes it all fresh in her now-classic account of how she and her son and numerous friends and neighbors and some strangers survived and thrived in that all important first year. From finding out that her baby is a boy (and getting used to the idea) to finding out that her best friend and greatest supporter Pam will die of cancer (and not getting used to that idea), with a generous amount of wit and faith (but very little piousness), Lamott narrates the great and small events that make up a woman’s life. "Lamott has a conversational style that perfectly conveys her friendly, self-depricating humor." -- Los Angeles Times Book Review "Lamott is a wonderfully lithe writer .... Anyone who has ever had a hard time facing a perfectly ordinary day will identify." -- Chicago Tribune
